Carrying the Repair Alone
Carrying the Recovery Alone
One of the most exhausting parts of betrayal recovery is feeling like you're the only one trying to move the relationship forward.
Many betrayed partners find themselves searching for resources, initiating difficult conversations, and managing the recovery process while also carrying the pain of the betrayal itself.
In this episode, I explore why this additional burden is so damaging and why the person who broke the trust needs to take initiative in repairing the relationship.
I also discuss what meaningful leadership in recovery looks like, even when you don't know what to do next. Taking responsibility doesn't require having all the answers.
It requires a willingness to show up, seek help, and consistently move toward your partner's pain instead of avoiding it.
While each partner is responsible for their own healing, rebuilding the relationship requires the recovering partner to actively participate in repairing the damage they've caused.
